Bellissimo

Whenever I visit Greens or Wheatberry, this lighted sign which says Bellissimo at the corner of Sct.Castor and T.Morato always catches my eye. While deciding where to grab late dinner last night, Rob and I were finally able to visit the place which has really aroused my curiosity.
Bellissimo seems to me, a house-turned-restaurant-place, if you know what i mean. If you peek through to the restaurant from the road, don't let it fool you, the long driveway hides the restaurant from view. But once you set eyes on the place, you'll find a charming and inviting home, one that you instantly serves good food and great ambiance.

We weren't disappointed. The first floor offers you an instant homey feel, as paintings line up the walls and the place is lit nicely with yellow dim lights (not too dim that you won't see what you're eating, though). Brick and wood is the general theme of the restaurant. Bottles of wine line up a dim room to the far left from the door, and a collection of sausages and cheese can be found at the bar.

The second floor of the restaurant is also very nice; huge paintings line up the walls and you are greeted by live music (one man on piano). You can actually request for some of your favorite tunes to be played. The second floor is more spacious, perfect for dining with family or a group of friends.Bellissimo is actually (co?) owned by Cesar Montano, and there is a cork board on the first floor with his pictures with different celebrities. Some of the painting on the second floor were painted by Cesar Montano himself.

We ordered Pasta ala Montana and Prosciutto e Funghi pizza; and of course Dark Chocolate gelato for dessert. Everything we ordered was fabulous :)

Prosciutto e Funghi: Ham and Mushroom (P330)

Pasta ala Montana: Fussilli with sausage, ham, pepperoni, bell peppers (~P300)

Dark Chocolate Gelato (P75)

Great place, great music, and great food.. Bellissimo is one of our best food finds at Morato. What more to ask for? We'll definitely be back for more! :)
