Abbondanza

October celebrants (Celine, AJ, Rizza) treated balikbayan Dianne (do the math! haha) to a nice birthday lunch at Abbondanza :)

Abbondanza Pizzeria Ristorante is found at the Ground Flr of Crescent Condominium (San Mig Ave and Amethyst Drive in Ortigas), the restaurant's main entrance is just a few minutes' walk from UA&P. They offer Italian dishes at affordable prices, their self-service system helps in bringing down food prices and the aura is actually similar to
Amici.

Simple dining awaits inside, and seating about 50 people doesn't seem to be a problem; bright lights give the interior an inviting feel.

We quickly ordered pizza and pasta (at first we just ordered one pasta dish but eventually decided to try another since we were all hungry and it was already past lunch time). We got the Four Seasons pizza, Lasagna, and Pescatora pasta. For dessert, Tiramisu and Panna Cotta.

The pizza was fresh and had generous toppings, their thin crust was also not bad. At first glance the bread that accompanied the pasta did not seem as appetizing, but one bite quickly quenched my first impressions. I am not that fond of white sauce, but our Pescatora pasta had just the right amount of cream and the mix with Seafood was good. The lasagna, although served in a smaller portion than we had anticipated, was also good.

Four Seasons (Tomato, Mozzarella, Ham, Mushroom, Artichoke, Olives) - P330

Pasta alla Pescatora (Spaghetti with Seafood Sauce, Shrimp, Mussels, Squid) - P120 small, P225 regular

Lasagne al Forno (Lasagne with Bolognese, Bechamel, Parmesan) - P105 small, P195 regular

For dessert, the Tiramisu had a taste that grows on you. At first, the chocolate powder on top was a bit too bitter, but as it's mixed in with the sponge cake and cream cheese, you can't help but finish the whole thing. The panna cotta was not as rich, but the strawberry syrup gave it the flavor. Personally, I like the Panna Cotta even without the syrup (since its soya-like; and hey, that's me, haha). Its a major plus that serving size for both desserts is for sharing.

Tiramisu - P125

All in all, it was a good lunch with the girls. :)
