Metro Cebu

What to do in Metro Cebu if you only had a day and a half? (Apart from the Lapu-Lapu Shrine and Magellan's Cross, that is.)I decided to extend my stay in Cebu for the weekend, and unfortunately, Bantayan was too far for a day trip from the Metro. So I ended up on the Edge Coaster, 4D shows, the Ayala Strip, and a Day Trip at Shangri-La. :)

EDGE COASTER and 4D

At the 38th floor of the Crown Regency Hotel, they offer the Edge Coaster ride: 2 people can ride this single roller coaster type of seat, which circles the edge of the building. The seat automatically tilts forward in one of the turns, but you'll be able to control the tilt angle at your own whim after that. The Edge Coaster is definitely a must-try!

For two, Access Pass (to the 38th floor) is P380 (non peak) and P480 (peak) and the ride proper is P500 (non peak) and P600 (peak). This comes with certificates and a light snack. You can purchase your pictures after the ride. Same rates apply for the Skywalk, where you walk at the edge of the building :)

Crown Regency also has the 4D Theater. Currently, they're showing 3 short clips (about 10 to 15 minutes). In Fairness, the shows are pretty cheap. For 2, it's P200 for 1 show, P350 for 2 shows, and P450 for 3 shows. I suggest you try the Lost Island. Certainly better compared to the other 2.

AYALA STRIP

I think the Ayala Strip in Cebu is great! Its’ huge, very ‘green,’ and surrounded by known, very interesting restaurants. Got to try The Gustavian (write up soon). Ayala is surely a fine place for a night out in Cebu City :)

SHANGRI-LA MACTAN

We decided to visit Shangri-La Mactan for a day. A day pass costs P2,000 per person, with free use of the beach, pool, P200 voucher which can be used at the gym, and buffet lunch at the Tides. Not bad. Shangri-La was (over)booked and there were a lot of people at the beach and pool area, but that did not take away the charm of extensive lawns, good furniture, pools, and a pretty good man-made beach. Shangri-La is a great place for some R&R :)
