Cafe Juanita

Revisited Cafe Juanita for lunch to celebrate our good friend, Erica's, birthday :) Cafe Juanita has already transferred to another area (now beside Shunji Matsuo), but still within Kapitolyo.

I love this cozy booth, best seat in the house

The ambiance is similar to the old place, they have a lot of antique and interesting pieces decorating the entire restaurant. The flamboyant decor adds to the charm of Cafe Juanita, and the pieces are actually for sale. I like this new place much better, bigger and well-lit, less chances of breaking something :)

There's also a second floor which was equally adorned, a private area with 3-4 tables which can be enclosed, nicely decorated with birdcages .

And of course, there's the food :) Cafe Juanita offers superb Filipino dishes. You definitely won't go wrong here :) Since it was a lunch treat, I wasn't able to note the exact dish names and prices (sorry!), but I immensely loved the fish and kaldereta dishes :) Albeit a little too oily, the kaldereta was very flavorful. The fish and pork sisig was also a great start, healthy and not at the same time, but worth every bite.

Cafe Juanita is definitely a great place for good food and conversation; you'd probably want to take your balikbayan friends here to sample great twists on Filipino dishes.
