New Bombay has been present at The Podium for the longest time, but we only got to give it a go last week! We were looking for something different for dinner and decided on Indian cuisine.
The restaurant is well-lit, with heavy-duty wooden tables and chairs. The spicy aroma will welcome you and the smell might even stick to your clothes, so we chose a table at the open area (farthest from the kitchen).
We were sooo hungry (it was already near 10pm at that time), so we quickly ordered drinks and appetizers. We settled on the Chicken Samosas, Lassi, and Kalamansi Juice. The lassi was great, as expected, and I was happy that drinks were not that expensive. The Samosas were actually a bit dry and I was at first hesitant to try the 2 types of sauce it came with. Surprisingly though, both the red and green sauce (sorry I don't know what they're called) was a great complement to the Samosas and tempered the dryness of the dish.

For the mains, we ordered 2 types of bread, Shrimp Curry, and Chicken Tikka Masala. We specifically asked for a mild mix, we weren't sure how if we can take the spice! I liked the Chapatti (wheat flour) compared to the Naan (white flour), since the Naan was a bit too chewy. Although priced really lower than the Naan, the Chapatti serving was half its size; so don't be surprised with the price difference!
We definitely loved the Curry and Masala. The servings might appear small, but our appetites were really satisfied... we weren't even able to finish everything off. The Curry dish had a generous serving of small shrimps and the curry was thick and packed with flavor. Chicken Tikka Masala was a heap of grilled boneless chicken on zesty masala sauce, which we also couldn't get enough of.
All in all, I find New Bombay a great place to get your Indian cuisine fix. Good food, reasonable prices, and a host of great flavors :)
