Lugang Cafe is definitely one of the Chinese restaurants with the best interiors and ambiance that I've encountered :) We fortunately got a table at the front part of the restaurant, with the high ceiling and under the awesome hanging lights.
The menu was really extensive and it took us awhile before we could even decide what to get. In the end we decided on dimsum, noodles, and a chicken & veggie dish. We loved the Xiao Long Bao! Liked it better than Shi Lin's. And they do have other variations you can choose from -- taro, red bean, crab & pork, loofah with shrimp.
All the dishes we tried were packed with flavor. We didn't order rice (which was a mistake) and tried to finish everything as is; we weren't successful though. I particularly liked the KungPao Cashew Chicken and Eggplant in Spicy Peanut Sauce, both had the right blend of sweetness and spice. Our minced pork noodle dish was just okay, it was too rich and texture was quite too thick for my palate. We washed it all down with a pot of tea, which is refillable at P40.
Prices are manageable and not at high as I originally thought. And for the ambiance and flavor, I'd say its just fair. All the dessert concoctions look really yummy, but I guess I have to try that next time :) Another reason to visit again!
