Vietnam: Saigon

After almost two years of no out-of-country travel, my husband and I found ourselves on another adventure, and this time to Vietnam. I was at first hesitant to go, since there are so many other places in Southeast Asia that I wanted to visit first; but I guess it's all part of the plan :)  Surprisingly, I enjoyed Vietnam -- the place was similar to Manila and we didn't have to adjust much, food/ tours/ shopping were relatively cheap, food was great, we managed to do alot of things during the trip, and of course it felt good to travel again with my husband :)

We stayed at Ho Chi Minh City, or what some would call Saigon. If you love theatre, Saigon City might be more familiar to you, as this was the setting of the infamous Ms. Saigon stage play during the Vietnam War. I personally like calling the place Saigon City.

So, what did we do in Saigon? Here's what you can see around the city:
Notre Dame Cathedral

Reunification Palace

Post Office

(Sculpture & Paintings) War Remnants Museum

People's Palace

Pretty Park at the City Center
Opera House

Ben Tanh Market

And apart from all these, food carts and interesting food finds can be found in almost all corners of Saigon City:
