Red Buffalo

The first resto I think about when you say Wings would be Buffalo's Wings n Things at the Ortigas Home Depot. The first time I wrote about Buffalo's was in 2009. I wasn't really a fan of wings back then, but I eventually turn over a new leaf -- there was even a time when my officemates and I found ourselves at Buffalo's once or twice a month!

I got to visit Red Buffalo at the Gilmore area about a month ago, and I definitely found it better that Buffalo's Wings n Things. First off, the restaurant and ambiance was clearly more superior, it had a diner-ish but army-ish vibe to it, if that's at all possible. I loved the restaurant interiors -- huge posters, bright lighting, nice walls. It would be great to have a barkada hang out/ pig out in this place!

They also hand out a box of disposable plastic gloves so that you can use your hands while eating without worrying about your hands or nails, which is an awesome idea.

Second, I also like the fact that Red Buffalo offered a lot of other food choices apart from buffalo wings. There's pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and burgers. I couldn't wait for our food to be served! I got myself a lemonade, which was definitely a good choice, since it was a bit sour and sweet, making it perfect for the spicy dishes.

We ordered Onion Rings, Shrimp Diablo Pasta, RB's Special Pizza, and of course Family-sized (40-pc) wings. You can split the flavors for more options; so we got half Parmesan Garlic and half X-Hot Original Buffalo. The onion rings was quite normal, but okay. Diablo pasta was hot, hot! But it was packed with flavor and tasted real good. Pasta was cooked right and had enough creamy tomato sauce for it not to turn out dry. Of course, you can't expect to get a lot of shrimps; there were about 4 in total; but that was okay :)

RB's Special Pizza had pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham, bell peppers, mushrooms, and olives. Really quite packed with ingredients for a thin, 12-inch crust. I liked the crust; thin but firm, even with the smorgasbord of toppings. The flavors itself was also good; it wasn't spicy so it complemented the pasta.

Now, the wings! Red Buffalo wings come in 5 flavors -- Original Buffalo (which comes in Hot, X-Hot, and Suicidal), Parmesan Garlic, Honey Bourbon, Sweet Heat BBQ, and Teriyaki. It comes in as small as a Single serving (5's) or as large as a Party serving (40's). We tried the X-Hot and Parmesan Garlic. The X-Hot lived up to it's name! A couple of friends were already sweaty, haha! I liked the spicy and tangy taste, and I had the perfect drink that went with it :)  The Parmesan Garlic was also very good, better than Buffalo's actually.

It's good to note also that the price of a Single Serve is just about the same as that of a half-pound at Buffalo's Wings n Things. (And here you get better ambiance and more flavor).

Last but definitely not the least, I liked the flavors at Red Buffalo better. Three very good reasons for me  to come back for more! :)
